"Light and bright. Cheerful. This is the way I decorate in my home, and my artwork has ended up reflecting the same "attitude".
I have been coming to Door County, WI since I was five years old. I have found that my love of architecture has led me to paint the very buildings I grew up with. Of course, I appreciate the natural beauty here. But I also have an affection for the towns and their older, historical buildings. I often reminisce over Wilson's for ice cream, the Ephraim Yacht Club when I stayed at the Eagle Harbor Inn, Al Johnson's for those special pancakes and miniature golf at the Red Putter. I go back to the days of Mrs. Kinsey owning The Summertime and running a gift shop - she actually accepted my first art attempt - decoupage. Since then, my husband and I have retired to Egg Harbor and I have taken classes at both the Bonita Springs Art League in Florida, as well as the Peninsula School of art. I would like to say a special thank you to people who have greatly influenced my work: Franne Dickinson, Nancy Sargent, Bridget Austin, Rosemary Utzinger and Shelby Keefe. I am thoroughly enjoying using acrylics to paint my way up and down the Peninsula, Florida and overseas. It is my hope that my paintings will evoke memories in all of those who view my work. Enjoy!"
