Formerly from Chicago, IL, Jim has worked in the commercial arts field as a graphic designer and creative director in Wisconsin and California. It wasn't until his retirement in 1997 that Jim became interested in watercolor painting. He attended several watercolor classes and workshops during that year and has been "hooked-on-color" ever since.
His paintings are included in private and corporate collections in California and the Midwest. He has been named Artist of the Year by the Placentia Art Assoc., the Brea Art Assoc., and the Anaheim Art Assoc. In 1999 he was awarded a Certificate of Recognition by the California State Senate for his work.
In 2002 he began teaching watercolor classes for adult students at the Rahr-West Art Museum and later at his home studio in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
